Make $ from your credit card

A few years ago, I realized that we used our checking debit card for the majority of our purchases and that we could earn rewards by making a few changes to the process of spending our money.  In three years, we have earned over $2,000 for shopping, plane tickets and to our mortgage principal.

How can you do this?
The first thing I did was apply for a rewards credit card with no annual fee.  Then I used the credit card to make my everyday purchases, just like I was using checking account card.
Twice a week, I wrote down my purchases and paid my credit card the money that we spent.  If you don’t maintain a zero balance on your card, you will accrue interest.  Be sure to do your research to find the best card for you.  Do not sign up for a card that has an annual fee or other “hidden” fees.  There are many cards out there that will not charge you fees.

It is a little bit more work, but if you can pay off your credit card every week and not be charged interest, you too can earn your way to free trips, shopping, and many other rewards.

Here is a list of the Linky parties that I link up to.  Thank you to all of the hosts for letting me post my favorite recipes, crafts, money saving ideas and activities for children.
